iLo = instituut Lichtontwerpen

iLo is a platform for professionals in the field of lighting design. For theatre and live-arts, architecture, public space, fine arts and musea, music, interior design etc. We offer promotion, research, development and mentorship for lighting designers.
iLo is a Dutch initiative to serve the local lighting design community within an international context. The institute stimulates intercultural and international development; communication and education for theatrical lighting. This does not limit to lighting for theatre. Theatrical lighting has become part of our world through the experience made possible by light. Lighting designers with a theatrical background can use their experience and knowledge in the world of architecture and public spaces, in museums and exhibitions, in interior design, for music and even into the virtual world!
iLo offers a two-year mentorship and coaching for young practitioners in lighting design. iLo is also organizing workshops, conferences and lectures to deepen the subject of lighting design, to broaden the field we are working in and to make the profession known to a broad public audience. International lecturers and designers take part in the development, view and philosophy on lighting design.
We educate 'haute lumière'!
