iLo was found in 2006 in the Netherlands to fill the need for a platform for artistic development in the professional lighting-design area, from local and international perspective.

Architects, directors, producers and other commissioners of projects highly estimate lighting as an important (and difficult!) part in their projects. Audiences love the experience when the work is made different by lighting with a touch of the artistic.

Information on technical aspects of lighting is found everywhere; the artistic part is seldom tought. Lighting design is still a profession 'by practice'. Creativity in lighting, the theatrical character, the illusionairy possibilities and the experience enhaced through light never had a platform like this; up to now.
