is a professional platform for promotion, research, development, debate and education in the field of lighting design: theatre and live-arts, architecture, public space, television, fine arts and musea, music, interior design etc.

Part of the institute is primarily focused on young lighting designers that show the talent to become independent selfemployed practicianers. By integrating practice and theory, analysis and debate, participants are inspired and challenged. Within an informal environment they will be trained to verbalize and present their concepts and designs.

For professionals as well as other interested groups workshops, lectures and seminars are organized on various (artistic) light-topics, some with direct links to the practical experience. Of course new technology and its application will also be discussed and tested.

The iLo initiates projects and also likes to receive commissioned projects.
