History in the Making

'History in the Making or
The true story of John Webber and his endless struggle with the Table of Content'.

'History...' is a performance created by visual artist Keren Cytter and produced by the platform ‘If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be part of your revloution’, as part of their long- term project ‘Masquerade’. It is a multi layered performance piece, seen through the shifting perspectives of the characters, through shadow and video, juxtaposing diferent theatrical forms through a dissolving context; where the faces and gender of the characters are constantly changing, as the performance alternates between the story of the characters and the stories of the actors as experienced during the making and performing of the piece.

A pilot of the performance was shown in Dublin’s Project Art’s Centre and after further development over the summer it will perforn in the Tate Modern in London and the Performa festival in New York in November.
